Fire destroys structure, spreads into vegetation 

Crews stop spread

– Cal Fire received a report at 11:16 p.m. Saturday of a residential structure fire south of Highway 58, near 9925 Huer Huero Road in Creston.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, a barn/shop building was reportedly fully involved in the fire, which spread into nearby vegetation. Firefighters responded quickly and worked to contain the blaze.

By Sunday morning, crews had extinguished the shop fire and successfully stopped the vegetation fire from spreading further, preventing additional damage, officials said.

“Solid work by all on scene,” the department tweeted.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
