Fire forces evacuation at Lake Nacimiento campground

Fire fully contained by 9:30 p.m.
– A two-acre vegetation fire forced the evacuation of Sandy Point Campground at Lake Nacimiento on Saturday evening.
Cal Fire posted on X that ground and air resources were en route by 6 p.m. A full wildland response was underway.
By 6:35 p.m., evacuations were in progress at the campground to clear the area for firefighters.
The fire was 60% contained by 8:25 p.m., with crews constructing containment lines and extinguishing hotspots, Cal Fire said.
Cal Fire sent a final update at 9:30 p.m., reporting the fire was 100% contained. One engine remained on scene until 10 p.m.
Vegetation Fire: A vegetation fire approximately 2 acres in size has been reported near Sandy Point Campground at Lake Nacimiento.
A full wildland response is currently en route, including ground and air resources.
