Burn will cover 40 acres on private land near Parkhill Road

    – Cal Fire San Luis Obispo Unit and the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department plan to conduct a prescribed burn the week of April 15 as part of the state’s Vegetation Management Program.

The burn is scheduled to take place between Tuesday, April 15, and Friday, April 18, beginning around 10 a.m. each day. Officials plan to burn approximately 40 acres on private land located about 20 minutes east of Santa Margarita, near the intersection of Seven Oaks Way and Parkhill Road.

The operation is a coordinated effort involving Cal Fire, the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District, and the San Luis Obispo County Community Fire Safe Council.

Officials stated that the purpose of the prescribed burn is to reduce the risk of large-scale wildfires and to support ecological resilience and diversity in the area.
