Firefighters battle wildfire between Paso Robles and Cambria on Saturday
– Cal Fire responded to a wildland fire on Aug. 17 near Cypress Mountain Drive, north of Highway 46W. The fire, known as the Cypress Incident, initially covered approximately 50 acres.
Assistance in battling the blaze was provided by Templeton Fire Department, Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services, Cambria Fire Department, San Miguel Fire Department, and Camp Roberts Fire Department.
Reports say a power outage in the area affected 131 customers to the west of the fire’s location toward Cambria.
The fire expanded to about 65 acres later in the day. As of the latest update on Sunday night, the fire has burned approximately 88 acres and is 50% contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
