Firefighters kick off ‘Fill the Boot Season’ in Paso Robles 

Local firefighters during the annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign for MDA.

–Paso Robles Firefighters Local 4148, Cal Fire/SLO County Firefighters Local 2881, Cambria Firefighters Local 4635, and Templeton Firefighters will volunteer to raise funds for the Central Coast Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Please help Firefighters “Fill the Boot” with donations of dollars and change on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at the intersection of Niblick/S. River Rd in Paso Robles from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you miss the Firefighters out at the intersection you can still make a tax-deductible donation towards the Paso Robles Fill-the-Boot event at https://filltheboot.donordrive.com/participant/Paso.

Fill-the-Boot kicks off in Paso Robles November 3rd and then Firefighters throughout the Central Coast Fill-the-Boot through the end of the year. Lookout for your local Firefighters coming to an intersection near you soon.

Nov 3: Paso Robles (Niblick/S. River Rd)
Nov 4: Guadalupe (Hwy 1/Main)
Nov 16: Goleta, Orcutt, Solvang (Clark/Bradley, Stork/Hollister, Copenhagen/Alisal)
Nov 17: Santa Maria (Cook/Broadway)
Dec 1 –2: Lompoc & Vandenberg AFB (Central/H)
Dec 7: SLO City (Los Osos Valley Rd/Froom Ranch)

With help from Firefighters, MDA can provide the following services to local families; medical clinics, medical equipment and the 100-percent wheelchair accessible youth Summer Camp. MDA is also the World Leader in muscle disease research.

MDA Summer Camp is specially designed for children with disabilities due to muscle diseases. MDA Summer Camp for local children was held July 8 – 14, 2018. The facility and all activities are 100-percent wheelchair accessible.

MDA and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) joined forces in 1954, forming a partnership committed to saving lives. The IAFF has remained committed to helping MDA free individuals, and the families who love them, from the harm of muscle diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. Firefighters use their strength to help kids and adults fighting muscle diseases to live longer and grow stronger.
