First ‘Paso Talks’ forum packs the library conference room

Community Development Director Warren Frace talks about growth and traffic in Paso Robles.
–Paso Talks, the first in a series of public forums by the city, packed the library conference room Wednesday night.
After an introduction by City Manager Tom Frutchey, Community Development Director Warren Frace and City Traffic Engineer David Athey talked about planning issues, and then fielded questions from those in attendance.
Among those in attendance, Mayor Steve Martin and City Councilmen Fred Strong and John Hamon. Several city council candidates also attended the forum including Michael Rivera and Maria Garcia.
The intent was to educate council candidates and interested citizens on the issues facing the city, and to allow citizens to ask city staff about issues they had. One resident talked about road and traffic problems near his home at 9th and Vine Streets. Others asked about the proposed Chandler and Olsen Ranch Specific Plans and the impact of those proposed housing developments on the east side of Paso Robles.
The Paso Talks session Wednesday night was the first in a series addressing different issues facing the city.
Next Thursday, the topic is Public Safety.
