Flash flooding, hail warning in parts of SLO county
–The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory for northeastern Santa Barbara and southeastern San Luis Obispo counties from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Locations impacted could include Cuyama. Carrizo Plain. and Highway 166 in the Cuyama Valley.
At 4:06 p.m., doppler radar was tracking a few strong thunderstorms over northeastern Santa Barbara and southeastern San Luis Obispo counties, with the strongest storm centered in the Carrizo Plain.
Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm. In addition, heavy rain with local roadway flooding is likely with these nearly stationary thunderstorms.
