Flooding advisory in effect for Paso Robles area
Seasonal rainfall total reaches 3.87 inches
– A flood advisory was issued for the Paso Robles area early Nov. 17 as a line of strong storms moved across the region.
The hazard includes wind gusts up to 50 mph and the possibility of a very weak tornado. Radar indicated the activity. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Moist soils may allow trees to be downed more easily.
Officials advised anyone outdoors to consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Drivers are urged not to travel through flooded roadways. The maximum recorded wind gust is 50 mph.
Paso Robles measured .16 inches of rain on Nov. 15, 1.37 inches on Nov. 16 and .44 inches on the morning of Nov. 17. The rainfall season total is 3.87 inches.
The weather forecast for the week shows rain and cool temperatures early, followed by clearing conditions. On Nov. 17, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 57 and a low of 41 with morning rain and .06 inches of accumulation. Nov. 18 is forecast to be partly cloudy with a high of 60 and a low of 39 and no additional rainfall. Nov. 19 will be partly cloudy with a high of 61, a low of 44 and .04 inches of rain. Rain is expected on Nov. 20 with a high of 56, a low of 45 and .47 inches of accumulation. Morning showers are forecast on Nov. 21 with a high of 63, a low of 43 and .03 inches of rain. Conditions will turn partly cloudy on Nov. 22 with a high of 66 and a low of 40 and no rainfall. Sunny weather is expected on Nov. 23 with a high of 67 and a low of 41 and no precipitation.
