Foreigner to perform last show with Kelly Hansen in Paso Robles

    Tickets on sale now

    – Kelly Hansen, lead singer of Foreigner, announced his retirement on “The Voice” on Tuesday, May 20. During the show, Hansen passed the torch to the band’s new lead singer, Luis Maldonado. Hansen will leave the band at the conclusion of its last U.S. show in 2025. Maldonado will take over as lead singer in 2026, in time for the band’s 50th anniversary.

Foreigner’s appearance at Vina Robles Amphitheatre will be the last time fans can see Hansen perform with the band. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18.

Foreigner last performed at the venue in 2019. Formed in 1976, the band has released 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits. It has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide.

Foreigner’s founder, Mick Jones, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, re-formed the band in 2002. Hansen, who joined after the hiatus, has helped bring Foreigner’s music to a new generation. Hansen said, “The best part about being in this band is getting the chance to do something I feel I was meant to do…what happens on stage with this group of guys is something that is rare and palpable. It’s like the old saying, ‘if I have to describe it, you wouldn’t understand.’”

Other band members include bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, guitarist Bruce Watson, drummer Chris Frazier and guitarist Luis Carlos Maldonado.

Foreigner is known for songs including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time” and “I Want To Know What Love Is,” which has over 1 billion streams on Spotify. The band’s music has been featured in films such as “Rock of Ages,” “Bad Moms,” “Pitch Perfect” and “The Eternals,” and in television shows including “Stranger Things,” “Orange Is the New Black” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

In spring 2024, Foreigner toured Canada and performed with Styx in amphitheaters across North America. The band also appeared at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and began its Hall of Fame celebration tour.

In fall 2024, the band released “Turning Back The Time,” a compilation of its greatest hits along with a new song, “Turning Back The Time,” written by Jones and Lou Gramm. The single has received significant airplay.

Foreigner also works with the Recording Academy and Shriners Hospitals for Children, raising money for high school music programs through MusiCares and GRAMMY In The Schools. The initiative includes a contest at each tour stop to find a local high school choir to perform “I Want To Know What Love Is” live with the band. Each winning school receives a $500 grant for its music program.

Tickets for the Vina Robles Amphitheatre show are available on Ticketmaster.
