Former Paso Robles superintendent joins local charter school board

Educator helped launch school during its early years

    – Curt Dubost has joined the Board of Directors of Almond Acres Charter Academy, a public charter school in Paso Robles, according to a press release from the school.

Almond Acres Charter Academy is a tuition-free school serving kindergarten through eighth grade students. Dubost is a longtime educator who has served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent, most recently with Paso Robles Unified School District. He holds a doctorate in education administration.

“Having been a part of their original inception, I’m honored to again be involved in Almond Acres,” Dubost said. “There’s nothing better than helping children love to learn.”

Joseph Ledoux, executive director of the charter school, said Dubost supported the school when it was starting in San Miguel.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Dubost on our Almond Acres Charter Academy Board,” Ledoux said. “Dr. Dubost was a big proponent when the school was just starting out in San Miguel. Curt is an outstanding educator with a long and distinguished career in education. He understands what it takes to sustain a high-performing organization that addresses academics and the whole child.”

The charter school employs credentialed teachers and administers state-mandated testing to provide families in northern San Luis Obispo County an additional choice in public education. The campus is located in Paso Robles and is open to students from multiple communities. The school’s mission is to help students succeed academically and socially by educating the whole child.
