–On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, the former Lucia Mar Unified School District school bus driver David Lamb was sentenced to sixteen years in state prison, as well as ordered to pay restitution.

Lamb plead no contest in February to two felony charges of committing lewd acts on a minor, after abusing a 9-year old girl for several months. After serving his sentence, Lamb will be required to register as a sex offender.

“Preying on vulnerable victims, like the defendant did to the young child here, is despicable and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in San Luis Obispo County,” said District Attorney Dan Dow. “We are grateful for the courageous disclosure of this brave victim and the great work of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office that led to Mr. Lamb being held accountable for his despicable acts.”

The former Lucia Mar Unified School District school bus driver plead no contest to two felony counts of committing lewd acts upon a child on Feb. 25, 2019. Lamb was charged with these crimes after a law enforcement investigation discovered that he sexually abused a 9-year-old special needs female student for several months in 2017. The young victim was the only passenger for portions of the defendant’s school bus route.

The case was investigated by San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Julie Antos.
