During Blakeslee’s career, he served as the State Assembly Republican Leader and played a key role on numerous committees – focusing on agriculture, job creation and government reform. Blakeslee is also the founding Director of the Institute for Advanced Technology & Public Policy at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

When Blakeslee was asked about his support, he said, “I’ve known John for many years and seen firsthand how his collaborative leadership skills have helped to bring people together under difficult conditions. I support him because, like outgoing Supervisor Frank Mecham, John has the right temperament and character to help move our community forward.”

Over the last fifteen years, Peschong has dedicated countless hours to the Central Coast and its residents – acting as a mentor for local youth, supporting various non-profits and offering common-sense solutions on regional issues. As a Supervisor, he will use this experience to ensure job opportunities are increased, personal rights are protected and families are safe.

He is also the founder of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association as well as the past president for the Lincoln Club of San Luis Obispo County, and spent nearly a decade as a Gubernatorial appointee to the California Mid-State Fair Board of Directors.

John Peschong is running for First District Supervisor, which includes the City of Paso Robles as well as the communities of Templeton, Heritage Ranch, San Miguel, Shandon and Oak Shores.

Peschong is a Republican strategist and partner at Meridian Pacific, a political consulting firm. He has previously contributed conservative political columns to The Tribune. He lives in Templeton with his wife, Anna, and their two children.
