Frankel extends lead in mayor’s race, Measure G-26 bond still short in latest results

– Faith Frankel’s lead in the race for Paso Robles mayor grew slightly, and the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District’s Measure G-26 bond remains short of the vote it needs to pass, according to the latest unofficial results from the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office. The results, released Thursday afternoon, update the early returns we reported Wednesday.

The latest unofficial results, posted at 4:55 p.m. Nov. 5, include all 153 precincts in the county. Countywide, 72,127 of 183,042 registered voters had ballots counted, a turnout of 39.40%. That includes 64,499 vote-by-mail ballots and 7,628 ballots cast at polling places.

The county’s unprocessed ballots report estimates that about 60,375 ballots remain to be counted, including 53,502 vote-by-mail ballots received on or before Election Day, 2,726 mail ballots received after Election Day and 2,709 provisional ballots. The county has until Dec. 3 to certify the results.
