Free college admissions information meeting happening March 28
–Parents of college-bound high school students with questions about university applications can get answers at a free workshop to learn about the admissions process and entrance exams.
The free workshop will be hosted by KnowledgeWorx at 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 at the The Wearhouse Micro Venue 815 12th Street Unit B, Paso Robles. Refreshments will be served.
Longtime educator and KnowledgeWorx founder Nagla Orlando will provide information and practical steps to parents of local high school students.
“I’ve worked with numerous students and their parents over the years to help take the mystery and the worry out of the admissions process,” Orlando said. “For many it has meant revealing opportunities they didn’t know were available to them, financially and academically. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for students; each one is unique and I work one-on-one with them to find the best opportunity for success.”
Among the topics she plans to cover in the hour-long presentation will be:

● Creating a strong high school profile with a competitive college prep curriculum, extracurricular
activities, leadership and sports

● Consideration of “non-brand’ name schools
● The differences and similarities between Common, UC and CSU applications
● Admission types and deadlines
● Everything you need to know about admissions exams (SAT and ACT)
● Question and answer period
