    Free guided Salinas River Trail Walk May 17 

    Salinas Trail, Paso Robles River Walk

    A ribbon cutting and guided walk to celebrate the new bilingual, interpretive exhibits recently installed along a portion of the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, part of the Salinas River Walk, will take place on Saturday, May 17.

    trail markerThe Paso Robles REC Foundation, National Park Service and the City of Paso Robles invite the public to explore and celebrate the new bilingual, interpretive exhibits recently installed along a portion of the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon.

    Led by Hale Sargent of the National Park Service, the free Salinas River Trail walk will begin at Larry Moore Park, located at 100 Riverbank Lane off South River Road in Paso Robles. Along the 3-mile, round-trip walk, Sargent will share the story of the 1775-76 Anza Expedition. The event will include a ribbon cutting for the new exhibits and light refreshments.

    As another in a series of 125th-anniversary events co-sponsored by the REC Foundation and the city of Paso Robles, the Salinas River Trail Walk will provide young and old alike the opportunity to explore the natural habitat and wildlife of the Salinas River and celebrate the city’s significant place in California history.
