Volunteers offer free tax-preparation assistance
Volunteer Michael Cussen, a retired CPA.
Again this year, qualified tax preparers are volunteering to help seniors and others with tax returns at the Paso Robles Public Library and Paso Robles Senior Center.
The volunteers, retired Certified Public Accountants and Enrolled Agents, have prepared about 200 tax returns so far this year. There are just a few days left to get free help before the IRS filing deadline of April 15.
The volunteers will continue to help seniors and others at the Veterans Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 10. Anyone who needs help with tax preparation is encouraged to make an appointment through the Senior Center at (805) 237-3880.
The Paso Robles City Library is offering free tax-preparation assistance to seniors and residents with low to moderate incomes. The help is being offered at the library through Apr. 5. One-hour appointments with AARP representatives will be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on each of the ten Saturdays. Call the library at (805) 237-3870 to schedule an appointment. At the Reference Desk, the Library will also provide assistance for citizens looking for copies of tax forms they may need.
