Fundraiser supports local animal sanctuary
– The Fourth Annual Fundraiser benefiting From the Heart Animal Sanctuary will take place Saturday, Sept. 27, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Iron Jungle parking lot, located at 580 Linne Road.
The event is free to attend, and donations will be accepted. Activities include a raffle, silent auction, animal appearances, and live music by The Industry. Food will be available for purchase from the Yabba Dabba Dogs food truck, the Woods volunteers’ bake sale, and Starbucks.
Founded by Leslie and Joe Thomas, From the Heart Animal Sanctuary is a local nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing permanent homes for marginalized animals, especially Siberian Huskies and those surrendered due to owner circumstances. The sanctuary is located on Fat Goat Farm in Paso Robles.
The sanctuary also uses its animals in children’s art classes. Joe Thomas teaches children ages 5 to 12 about the physical and behavioral traits of the animals they draw and paint.
From the Heart Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that depends on donations from individuals and businesses. For more information, visit fromtheheartanimalsanctuary.org, email fromtheheartanimalsanctuary@gmail.com, or call (805) 610-2149.
