General Store donates Thanksgiving weekend sales to El Camino Homeless Organization
Store will donate 10 percent of sales from Friday through Sunday
– General Store Paso Robles has announced that it will donate 10 percent of all sales made over Thanksgiving weekend to the El Camino Homeless Organization. The store is celebrating its thirteenth holiday on the park in Paso Robles.
“This year has been a trying one…we have all felt it. Providing a monthly meal to the clients at ECHO has shown us firsthand how the ECHO team manages their resources, and they do so sustainably, strategically, and with a big heart,” explained Joeli Yaguda, co-owner of the store and member of the ECHO Board of Directors.
“General Store Paso Robles is deeply committed to supporting our neighbors facing homelessness, and we’re grateful for their partnership this Black Friday weekend. Their generosity directly strengthens ECHO’s efforts to help individuals and families find stability, hope, and a pathway to permanent housing.”
The donation campaign will run from Friday through Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend at the store’s location on the park in downtown Paso Robles.
General Store Paso Robles showcases the work of dozens of local and small makers and offers handcrafted goods, home items, bath and body products, sweets, and specialty pantry items.
“We believe small actions make a big difference,” said Jillian Waters, who, along with Erin Stuck, has co-owned the store with Yaguda since it opened in 2013. “By shopping small, customers help sustain local creativity—and now, they’ll also help ensure our most vulnerable community members receive care and support this holiday season.”
Visitors to the store can also view the lighting of the trees in the park on Friday night and the display each night through the holidays.
General Store Paso Robles was started by Stuck, Waters and Yaguda to share their enthusiasm for local goods from Paso Robles. The founders have produced letterpress stationery, pottery and olive oil. The shop is in its twelfth year and is open seven days a week.
