Get a free flu shot at Glen Speck Elementary next week
Vaccinations will be provided on a walk-in basis during the clinic hours
– The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department will host a free flu vaccine clinic on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glen Speck Elementary School in Paso Robles. The clinic offers community members an opportunity to get their annual flu shot before flu season peaks.
The event is open to everyone aged 6 months and older, with no appointment required. Vaccinations will be provided on a walk-in basis during the clinic hours. This service is available to all, regardless of residency, income, insurance coverage, or immigration status.
The flu vaccine is especially important for protecting vulnerable groups, including young children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of the flu, which can lead to severe illness.
It takes about two weeks for the body to build antibodies after receiving the flu shot, making the clinic well-timed for the holiday season and gatherings around Thanksgiving.
