Giovanni’s Fish Market serving free meal to all on Wednesday

Giovannis Fish Market
He’s a man on a mission to feed as many people as he can in one day. That’s exactly what Giovanni DeGarimore plans on doing Wednesday to mark the 30th celebration anniversary of Giovanni’s Fish Market in Morro Bay.

“I’m encouraging everybody who comes out to bring a person or family that might be homeless or hungry so that we can feed them all,” says DeGarimore.

It takes heart to run a successful business, and for more than 30 years the DeGarimore family of Giovanni’s Fish Market has made it their life’s goal to contribute to the local community. To celebrate their third decade of business, and in tribute to the late Mike DeGarimore, Giovanni’s Fish Market is offering a day of “Free Fish and Chips for All” on Wednesday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“My dad loved helping people in any way he could, and he passed those ethics down to me,” DeGarimore says. “Now it’s up to Giovanni’s to give back to those in need.”

The fish market, located on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay, encourages anyone (Especially the Hungry, and homeless community) to please stop by and enjoy a free fish and chips, experience the view from the deck, and soak up the fun family atmosphere. Expect Great Musical entertainment by The Mighty Croon Dogs, Prizes and great food for a good cause.

“I’d like to be an example to other business owners, and encourage them to do something similar.” DeGarimore says. “Hunger is something that just shouldn’t exist in this day and age..”

No purchase necessary. Each person attending is entitled to one fish and chips meal free of charge. Open to the general public.

Giovanni’s Fish Market is located at 1001 Front Street, on the Embarcadero, in Morro Bay, CA.
