Girls waterpolo competes in Clovis West Central Valley Showdown

–Girls polo played in the Clovis West Central Valley Showdown the first week of September, and played in the A division and placed 8th. The Bearcats opened up play against Redwood the Division 2 Central Section Champions from last year winning 9-3. The ladies then went on to play Clovis the Division 1 champions falling 13-2. On the second day of competition, the Bearcats fell to Cif division 1 runner-ups Sanger 7-4. For the last game of the tournament, the Bearcats played Righetti falling in sudden death overtime to go 1-3.

Tuesday the Bearcats played a league game against San Luis Obispo winning 19-2. MacKenzie Raymond and Emily Christian each scored 5 goals. Tatiana Smeltzer scored 4. Four other Bearcats scored the remaining goals.

Thursday the Bearcats played Pioneer Valley with a shutout Victory winning 13-0. 11 different Bearcats scored in the game.

The Lady Bearcats are now 10-4 (2-1 in the league). The Bearcats continue league on Tuesday against Righetti at Municipal. Game time is 5 p.m.
