    Girls waterpolo kicks off the season

    –The Lady Bearcats kicked off their Central Section move with a tournament at Tulare Union High School. On Friday they faced off against Sunnyside and Mission Oak. The Ladies won both 14-1 and 13-4.

    Saturday the Bearcats played Kingsburg in the Semifinal game and won 10-2. In the Championship game, the Bearcats won against Exeter 12-5. The Ladies never trailed during the tournament.

    Tatiana Smeltzer was the tournament MVP and high scorer on the weekend with 17 goals, Halle Nash had 11 and named an All-Tournament Utility Player. Aubrey Pasky was also named an All-Tournament Utility Player for her Center Defense and steals. MacKenzie Raymond was the next highest scorer with 8 goals. Finley Burns had 32 saves on the weekend including a penalty block.

    The Lady Bearcats are now 6-0 (1-0 in league) and face off against Nipomo High School on Monday at 5 p.m. at NHS.
