Girls wrestling team competes in Morro Bay tournament

Team finished 19th out of 41 schools
– The Paso Robles High School girls wrestling team participated in the California Invitational Tournament in Morro Bay, finishing 19th out of 41 schools.
Senior Denisse DeLaCruz Lopez earned fifth place, while junior Tiana Basulto secured second place in their respective weight classes.
The Paso Robles team currently includes around 10 athletes, with efforts underway to expand and fill all 14 weight classes. Denisse and Tiana are standout athletes and serve as leaders for the program, according to Paso Robles High School wrestling coach Nate Ybarra. Both wrestlers are being recruited by colleges nationwide, and they also excel academically, taking advanced classes to prepare for college.
The Paso Robles Girls’ wrestling team will compete this weekend at the Selland Arena tournament in Fresno.
