Groundwater basin management meeting held at Kermit King
–A workshop was held Thursday night at Kermit King Elementary by the County’s Groundwater Sustainability Agency to discuss setting groundwater levels in the Paso Basin.
The workshop intended to get input from basin users and interested community members regarding “sustainable management criteria” including where to set ideal and acceptable groundwater levels for the Paso Basin. That process is required by the Groundwater Sustainability Management Act.
Supervisor Debbie Arnold said that the county is looking for input on the groundwater levels, but any court action may require the agency to rework their decision.
There will be another public workshop at 6 p.m. on Monday at Creston Elementary School, 5105 O’Donovan Road.
