Synopsis of Half Brother

When his longtime girlfriend breaks up with him, 30 year-old Michael suddenly finds himself homeless. With nowhere else to go, he spends the weekend at his father and stepmother’s house, only to find that they’re embroiled in a bitter divorce. As he gets caught in the middle of their angry disputes, Michael struggles to come to terms with his place in a dysfunctional family. Starring Stephen Plunkett (The Mend), Dante Bruzzese, Casey Biggs, Christina Haag, and Elizabeth Masucci (TNT’s Public Morals), Half Brother is a family drama about finding your home, even as it’s falling apart.

Anthony Grippa is an independent filmmaker from New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in History and earned his M.F.A. in Directing from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. He spent two years studying and performing improv at The People’s Improv Theater in New York. Mr. Grippa has written and directed several short films, music videos, and commercials. His feature film credits include Running Funny, starring Tony nominated actor Louis Zorich, and Half Brother, starring Stephen Plunkett and Casey Biggs.

Casey Biggs received a BFA from Juilliard in 1977 and first did guest roles in television shows. In 1995 he was nominated for the role of Damar in the science fiction show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. First intended as a minor character, Damar later became one of the major figures in the show, leading the entire Cardassian Union and having a major influence on the show’s events.

Biggs has appeared in movies such as The Pelican Brief, Broken Arrow, Dragonfly and the Star Trek documentary Trekkies 2 as well as many guest appearances on TV shows, Elementary, Person of Interest, The Good Wife, the Father Dowling Mysteries, Matlock, The Young Riders, ER, Snoops, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Crossing Jordan.

Biggs teaches directing and acting at The New School for Drama. Biggs is now the face of Paso Robles Wine and currently stars in their commercials. He resides part time in Paso Robles and is the Executive Director for the proposed Paso Robles Center for the Performing Arts.
