Head-on collision reported on Highway 41
–On Friday night at approximately 10:21 p.m., the Atascadero Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to an injury traffic collision in the area of 13550 State Route 41.
The first units on the scene found that both vehicles had collided head-on and all occupants sustained injuries. One of the drivers had to be extricated and sustained moderate to major injuries. The other vehicle’s occupants sustained moderate injuries. All of the parties were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
State Route 41 was closed to traffic for approximately 3 ½ hours while the scene was processed and the vehicles were removed.
The collision is still under investigation by the Atascadero Police Department.
