‘Healthy Heroes’ program to be hosted at library this Thursday, Friday

– This Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7, the Paso Robles City Library will host a “Healthy Heroes” program focused on helping children take charge of their health by making positive food choices and exercising.

The program on August 6 will be at the library study center, located at 3600 Oak Street at 2 p.m., then at the downtown library, located at 1000 Spring Street, on Friday, August 7 at 11 a.m.

Participants will be invited to make a healthy rainbow snack with the Wellness Kitchen while learning the importance of eating many colorful fruits and vegetables. Rose Hawthorne from Bless Your Heart Bakery will be on hand to help children understand the impact that sugar has on their health. She’ll be offering one of her low sugar baked goods for a sample to help children learn that treats low in sugar can be delicious too.

Participants will also enjoy a brief introduction to yoga with Mary Uebersax from Paso Robles’ Earthtones Center for Healing.Rainbow snacks healthy heroes
