Heat advisory in effect for Paso Robles through Tuesday

    hot weather
    – An excessive heat watch remains in effect from Sunday morning through Tuesday evening for the interior valleys of southwestern California, including North County. The National Weather Service warns of dangerously hot conditions, with daytime high temperatures expected to reach between 100 and 107 degrees.

The heat poses a high risk for dangerous heat illnesses, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, individuals without air conditioning, and those active outdoors.

Residents are advised to take precautions, including drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding sun exposure, and checking on relatives and neighbors.

The public should not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in just a few minutes.

Parts of North County experienced a rare summer rain yesterday, according to eye-witness reports. No additional rain is in the forecast.
