High of 96 forecast in Paso Robles

    – A heat advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday for Paso Robles and other parts of the state, including the Los Angeles and Ventura County valleys, the Santa Monica and Santa Ynez mountains, and the southern Salinas Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect daytime temperatures to reach the 90s and up to around 103 degrees, with overnight lows offering little relief from the heat.

The advisory warns of a high risk of heat-related illness, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, older adults, people without air conditioning, and those who are active outdoors.

Officials urge residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned spaces, avoid direct sunlight, and check on relatives and neighbors. People should wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and limit outdoor activities to the early morning or evening. Anyone showing signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke should receive immediate attention. In cases of heat stroke, call 911 and move the person to a cool, shaded area.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments for those working outdoors.

In Paso Robles, the forecast shows high temperatures through the weekend with gradual cooling during the week:

    • Saturday, May 10: high of 96, low of 51, sunny

    • Sunday, May 11: high of 87, low of 45, sunny

    • Monday, May 12: high of 68, low of 43, mostly sunny
