Heat warning in effect through 8 p.m. tonight
Monday’s forecasted high is 99
– An excessive heat warning remains in effect for Paso Robles until 8 p.m. today. The National Weather Service reported that temperatures are expected to reach between 98 and 108 degrees, with warm overnight lows ranging from 75 to 85 degrees in lower mountains and foothills.
The heat poses a high risk for dangerous heat-related illnesses, particularly for young children, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and individuals engaging in outdoor activities. The public is advised to use caution when performing strenuous activities, especially in areas such as the Santa Monica Mountains.
Officials recommend drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned environments, avoiding direct sunlight, and checking on relatives and neighbors. Individuals are advised to avoid hiking or other strenuous activities during the late morning through early evening hours to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
