Hector Palafox enters race for San Miguel CSD Board
–In response to the San Miguel CSDs rate increase, another longtime resident is stepping up to run for the CSD Board, Hector Palafox.
Palafox holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sonoma State University, he has been a resident of San Miguel for the past 16 years. He filed paperwork to run for the board on Thursday.
“I love San Miguel, it is the place my family has called home for many years. I want to see our town be a welcoming and vibrant place for all. The CSD must lead our community forward, however, doubling rates and ignoring the public is not the way to do it.” Palafox said.
When asked what he would have done differently with regards to the rate increase Palafox said “I would have done it much more slowly, and I would have supported programs that would have offered help to our residents manage the rate increase. If other communities do it, why can’t San Miguel do it? We should be doing that now.”
Amongst his other priorities, Palafox listed repairing infrastructure, managing our resources and water quality, making our community safer, and beautifying the community. “Our residents deserve access to clean and affordable water for their needs. I am looking forward to modernizing San Miguel, listening to your voices, and I respectfully ask for your vote.”
