Help wanted – Experienced Advertising Sales Representative
– Access Publishing, Paso Robles Daily News, and the San Luis Obispo County Visitors Guide are seeking applicants for an advertising sales representative position.
Job purpose:
The advertising sales representative position is responsible for the sales of print and online advertising and marketing services in the San Luis Obispo County area. The new representative will manage and successfully execute the sales process, including lead generation, prospect qualification, face-to-face meetings, contract negotiations, and closing. They will serve as the lead sales contact for the project from sales generation to sales close and ongoing service of clients.
This can be an in-person, full-time, or part-time position. The majority of daily work is outside sales, setting appointments, and networking opportunities.

– San Luis Obispo County Visitors Guide
– Paso Robles Daily News
– A-Town Daily News
– Business website design
– Online marketing
– Additional print publications
Primary responsibilities:
– Prospecting/lead generation
– Cold calling and setting appointments
– Client qualification
– Client presentations
– Face-to-face meetings
– Contract creation and negotiation
– Closing clients
– Obtaining client referrals
– Networking activities in San Luis Obispo County
– Setting goals and priorities
– Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
– Assist with strategy, direction, and planning
– Maintain client relationships
– Continuous communication with staff to ensure a consistent message

– Technically skilled and driven to innovate sales methods

Ideal candidate:
– Experienced in advertising/media sales, especially print or digital.
– Familiar with small businesses, including tourist-related businesses in SLO County
– Self-motivated, organized, and confident in face-to-face sales
– Comfortable working independently in the field
What we offer:
– Commission-based compensation with 20% commission on new sales and 10% on renewals
– Full-time or part-time.
– This is a commission-based position with a nonrecoverable hourly draw (advance) against commissions to ensure minimum wage compliance.
– Full-time (40 hours/week): Draw = $660/week plus commission
– Part-time (20 hours/week): Draw = $330/week plus commission
– Driving stipend
– Medical and PTO for full-time employees

– Commissions are earned and payable once payment is received from the client.
