High school football season kicks off tonight in Paso Robles

–Friday night, the Paso Robles Bearcats open the high school football season hosting Liberty of Bakersfield. It’s the first game for each team in 2019.

Max Preps ranks Liberty #3 in the division. Paso Robles is ranked #172. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at War Memorial.

The Bearcats then travel to Bakersfield next week to play Frontier. In week 3, they host highly regarded El Diamonte at home. In their fourth game, they travel to Fresno to take on Central. It’s a challenging beginning for the Bearcats.

The Central Section realigned the Mountain League. It now includes Paso Robles, Righetti, Arroyo Grande and St. Joseph. The Pac-4 includes Atascadero, Nipomo, San Luis Obispo and Pioneer Valley. The Ocean League includes Templeton, Mission Prep, Santa Maria and Morro Bay.

Friday night, Atascadero plays Sunnyside in Fresno.

Templeton opens their season at Carruthers. Eagles Head Coach Don Crow says, “The Caruthers Blue Raiders are 24-2 over the last two seasons. They will be a good challenge for our Eagles.”
