High school names athletes, scholar-athletes of the year

– Paso Robles High School has announced the 2024 Athletes of the Year and Scholar Athletes.
2024 Male Athlete of the Year
Connor Bowman, recognized for his performance in football and basketball, was named the 2024 Male Athlete of the Year. Bowman was the Offensive MVP for the football team, leading with 744 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He served as team captain for both the football and basketball teams, though an injury cut his basketball season short. Bowman maintained a 4.3 GPA and will be attending Cal Poly in the fall. His teammates praised his dedication, stating, “He was always someone they knew would give his all every play.”
2024 Female Athlete of the Year
Elie Chavez, who participated in volleyball, soccer, and softball, was named the 2024 Female Athlete of the Year. Chavez, a three-sport athlete in her senior year, was nominated by four different coaches. She earned First Team All-League honors in softball and soccer and was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the Sunset League, allowing only 12 goals and making 86 saves. Chavez led the softball team in runs and hits. Additionally, she served as ASB President and Student Trustee of the School Board, all while maintaining a 4.8 GPA. Chavez will attend the University of San Diego in the fall.

2024 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Nicholas Woodard, a soccer player, was named the 2024 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. Woodard maintained a 4.4 GPA over four years. On the field, he was the CCAA League MVP, team captain, and Golden Boot Award winner for being the leading scorer.
2024 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Peyton Bedrosian, a track and field athlete, was named the 2024 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. Bedrosian holds the school record in pole vault and placed ninth overall in the state competition this year. She achieved a 4.7 GPA over four years and will be attending San Diego State in the fall, representing the Aztecs in pole vaulting.
