–Highlights from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4, as submitted by the City of Paso Robles, are as follows:

Declaration of General Election Results–approved a resolution reciting the facts declaring the results of the November 6, 2018 election. Mayor Steve Martin and Councilmember John Hamon were re-elected to 4-year terms. Maria Elena Garcia was elected to her first 4-year term. All three were sworn into office by City Manager Tom Frutchey.

Selection of Mayor Pro-Tempore–approved a motion reappointing Councilmember Steve Gregory to serve as Mayor Pro-Tempore for a term of two years.

Community Development Block Grant Draft Action Plan–approved direction to staff to include applications for funding in the Draft One Year Action Plan as follows: funding projects to install Handicapped Ramps in the Sierra Bonita neighborhood, provide financial support for the services provided by CAPSLO and El Camino Homeless Organization, for staff to explore with the County an opportunity to utilize CDBG funds to alleviate possible emergency conditions threatening the public health and safety of homeless individuals in Salinas River bed. The total anticipated allocation of CDBG funds for Paso Robles is $215,884. Final direction on the draft action plan was set for the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

2401 Oakwood St. Oak Tree Removal–approved a request to remove one oak tree at the existing Paso Robles Ford site and require six 1.5-inch diameter oak replacement trees be planted on site at the direction of the Arborist.

93 West 12th St. Oak Tree Removal–approved request to remove one, four-stem Coast Live Oak located within the 12th Street right of way at 93 West 12th Street. require one 1.5-inch diameter Coast Live Oak replacement trees to be planted on site, and three other Coast Live Oak trees be planted in public areas as determined by the Community Services Department.

2019 Council Committee Assignments–approved with amendments, the mayor’s recommendations for city councilmember assignments to regional bodies, commission liaisons and ad hoc committees. Those assignments will be listed here when the list has been updated to reflect the new assignments.

2019 City Council Meeting Calendar–approved the City Council Meeting calendar, which generally meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month. The council approved three exceptions for 2019, scheduling regular meetings for the Thursdays of Jan. 3, Sept. 5 and scheduling one regular meeting in July for Tuesday the 16. Union Rd. Improvements along Barney Schwartz Park– authorized the city manager to engage the services of Wallace Group to prepare plans, specifications and estimates to repair Union Road along Barney Schwartz Park. This authorization is for $134,944 ($122,676 plus 10-percent contingency).
