Highway 101 ramp work to cause delays between Soledad, Greenfield

road work ahead sign– A project to upgrade ramps along Highway 101 between Soledad and Greenfield will begin Sunday and continue through late September.

Travelers will encounter intermittent closures in northbound and southbound lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Drivers can expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes.

The work will affect the northbound and southbound offramps at Oak Avenue and Walnut Avenue. Crews will also work on ramps in both directions at Livingston Road and El Camino Real, Arroyo Seco Road, and Highway 146.

The pavement preservation work will add skid resistance, restrict moisture, restore a uniform surface, and add pavement markings.

Electronic message signs will provide information about the roadwork. Caltrans advised drivers to use caution, watch for flaggers and highway workers, allow additional travel time, move over, and slow down while traveling through the work zone.

CalRise Builder Inc. of La Verne will serve as the project contractor.

For updates about other state highways in San Benito County, travelers can call Caltrans District 5 at (805) 549-3318 or visit the district’s website.
