Highway 101 rehabilitation project continues in San Miguel
–A project to improve eight miles of US Highway 101 from north of Monterey Road in San Luis Obispo County to south of the East Garrison Overcrossing near Camp Roberts in Monterey County continues with a widening of the inside shoulders on US 101 north of 10th Street. The installation of girders for the new northbound US 101 Overcrossing at South Mission Street has been completed.
Grading and concrete work for the new San Marcos Creek Bridge continues with the installation of girders scheduled for early October. Paving along 10th Street at Cemetary Road has been completed as part of lowering the profile of 10th St for proper bridge clearance. Motorists will encounter intermittent/long term ramp closures and one-way reversing traffic control for continued electrical and drainage work on 10th Street.
During the 10th Street ramp closures, motorists headed southbound may exit US Highway 101 at North Mission Street. Motorists entering northbound US Highway 101 from San Miguel will use Mission Street through San Miguel before reaching US Highway 101 at the north end of town.
The contractor for this $53 million project is Security Paving of Sylmar, CA. It is scheduled to be complete in 2019. The public may learn more about this project at the Caltrans District 5 Projects page.
