Highway 46 widening project to cause lane closure
Closures will be in effect Aug. 30, 31
–The widening of Hwy. 46 East from McMillan Canyon Road to Lucy Brown Road through Shandon will result in a lane closure between McMillan Canyon Road and East Center Street on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the installation of protective barrier for highway workers, according to Caltrans.
Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control with a pilot car and flaggers. Traffic delays are estimated between 25 to 30 minutes. Motorists may detour by using State Route 198 or State Route 166. Electronic message boards have been activated to alert travelers about this roadwork.
The contractor for this $47 million project is Brosamer & Wall of Walnut Creek CA. It is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2018.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
