Highway 58 resurfacing project begins 

–A project to resurface 24 miles of Highway 58 from six miles east of Santa Margarita near State Route 229 to the Navajo Creek Bridge began on Friday, Sept. 28.

Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control and stationary lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Overnight traffic control is anticipated Monday night through Friday morning from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. and from 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes.

The contractor for this $7 million project is Papich Construction of Arroyo Grande. This project is expected to be completed next January, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
