Hope Family Wines offers hands-on harvest experiences
– Hope Family Wines is offering interactive tasting experiences featuring freshly picked grapes at its two Paso Robles locations: the Hope on Park tasting room in downtown Paso Robles and the Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar in the Templeton Gap District.
Both experiences coincide with California Wine Month in September and will continue through October in celebration of Paso Robles Harvest Wine Month.
At Hope on Park, the “Austin Hope Vertical: Harvest Edition” will be held for $75. The event begins with a guided berry sensory analysis using freshly picked grapes. Guests will assess ripeness by examining pulp, seeds, and skins. They will also learn to take brix measurements to determine grape sugar content. The experience concludes with a curated multi-vintage vertical tasting of Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon. Reservations can be made online or by calling (805) 591-0744.
At the Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar, the “Harvest Happiness” experience will be offered for $25. Guests will learn how winemakers use brix to determine when grapes are ready for harvest. The event includes measuring grape sugar ripeness with a hydrometer and sampling fresh grape juice from the vineyard. The tasting also features a flight of Austin Hope and Treana wines. Reservations can be made online or by calling (805) 238-4112.
Hope on Park will also host two harvest season happy hours. On Sept. 29, “Deconstructing Cabernet Sauvignon—A Paso Robles Exploration” will feature a guided tasting led by vineyard director Stasi Seay and national brand ambassador CJ Gormley. The $35 event includes local cheeses and charcuterie by Rolling Oaks Charcuterie.
On Oct. 27, “Oyster Fest at Hope on Park” will showcase Morro Bay Gold Oysters and include freshly shucked oysters paired with Austin Hope wines. Tickets cost $45. The event will also highlight sustainable oyster farming practices in Morro Bay.
