–Hospice du Rhone, the international wine organization based in San Luis Obispo, announced it will be holding the three-day Paso Robles event April 14-16, 2016 at the Paso Robles Event Center.

Tickets to attend the Paso Robles installment are now on-sale through the organization’s website. The weekend, dedicated to nothing but Rhones, will include four in-depth educational seminars, two tastings and three meals. Guests may purchase a weekend pass to experience the full weekend or buy individual tickets to take in what their schedule allows. Also available is a “Tasty Twosome” ticket which gives guests the opportunity to attend both the opening and the closing tastings at a discount.

The seminar series will once again gather Rhone personalities to take the stage. Jeb Dunnuck of the Wine Advocate will lead attendees through an exploration of the terroirs of Chateauneuf du Pape tasting wines from the famous rolled stone soils along with wines from the more sand, clay and limestone dominated terroirs. Taking a good look at Washington State is also on the docket. Sharing their wines and viewpoints from the northwest state will be Todd Alexander of Force Majeure, Greg Harrington of Gramercy Cellars, Sean Boyd from Rotie Cellars along with Bob Bertheau of Tenet Wines a collaboration with winemaker Michel Gassier and enology consultant, Philippe Cambie who will also be in attendance.

Heading to the southernmost portion of the Rhone Valley winegrowing region guests will embark on a white wine focused seminar with producers from Costieres de Nimes. The seminar will star Michel Gassier of Michel Gassier, Luc Baudet of Chateau Mas Neuf, François Collard of Chateau Mourgues du Gres and Diane De Puymorin of Château d’Or et de Gueules. Completing the 2016 Paso Robles Seminar Series will be a look at Syrah and Grenache from Paso Robles and Santa Barbara. Leading this quest will be Jordan Fiorentini of Epoch Estate Wines, Russell From of Herman Story Wines, Trey Fletcher of Bien Nacido Estate and Chris Hammell of Hammell Wine Alliance. Moderating this seminar will be Matt Kettmann of Wine Enthusiast. Full seminar details may be found at hospicedurhone.org.

The journey continues with over 140 global Rhone wine producers sharing their wines at both the opening and closing tastings. This tasting format gives each guests a two-day opportunity to taste how gracefully the producers’ wines age and what to expect in the future. A list of all attending Rhone wine producers and importers may be found on the organizations website.

Guests will partake in cuisine from Chef John Toulze of the girl & the fig of Sonoma, California at an invite-only welcome reception, the fare of Chef Spencer Johnston of Danior Catering of San Luis Obispo, California for the Rosé Lunch, and the BBQ masters from The Hitching Post II from Buellton, California at the Saturday Farewell BBQ.
