Irene Saueressig Morrison dies at 70
Irene Saueressig Morrison aged 70 of Templeton was born in the Atascadero Hospital on May 3, 1947. She passed away on October 26th surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her mother Frances Buchanan Saueressig, her father Donald P. Saueressig and her husband Gary U. Morrison. Her grandparents on both sides of the family moved to the north county area in 1917.
Irene attended K through 12 in the Templeton school system. She then attended Cuesta College and Cal Poly. Upon completion of her education in 1969 she moved to San Francisco where she started a thirteen year career with Bank of America at their World Headquarters. Irene advanced to a position as an assistant vice president. At the time of her mother’s declining health, she resigned from B of A and returned to Templeton to help care for her mother. Upon her marriage to Gary, Irene started a new career as a Ranch wife.
Irene is survived by her brother Don Saueressig (Carol) of Atascadero, her niece Emma Saueressig Bolterman (Richard) and their children Cole, Connor, and Cooper of Templeton, and her nephew Paul Saueressig (Jenny) and their son Mason of San Luis Obispo. She is also survived by a group of lifelong inseparable friends, known as “The Gang” since their high school days. Members are Margaret Terry Wheeler, Judy Edelman Yeomans, Alyce Aronson Gross, Barbara Allen Condon. Irene now joins fellow member, the late Linda Atkins Hamers. Additionally she is survived by her second family, the Chris and Sheila Delisle family plus many very close cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Templeton on Wednesday November 8th at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at Niner Wine Estates, 2400 Highway 46 West, Paso Robles.
