    – The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo will host a series of fall events beginning Oct. 24.

The lineup includes Zoo Boo, Pumpkin Smash, and Día de los Muertos celebrations, all designed as family-friendly activities at the zoo.

Zoo Boo will take place Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include Halloween-themed decorations, carnival-style games, and a haunted maze. A live DJ will perform each night, with DJ Andy Morris on Friday and DJ Medina Light Show Designs on Saturday. Costume contests for children and families will be held, with prizes for the best outfits.

Costume guidelines request that participants keep costumes family-friendly, avoid masks for adults, and refrain from using weapons or violent themes. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable trick-or-treat bags.

Tickets cost $16 per person per night for regular admission and $15 for zoo members. Children ages 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at VisitAtascadero.com/ZooBoo.

Pumpkin Smash will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visitors can watch animals enjoy pumpkins as part of their seasonal enrichment. The event is included with regular zoo admission.

Día de los Muertos will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature themed crafts, cultural exhibits, special guests, and live music from DJ Rama. Food from Quesadilla Gorilla will be available for purchase. The event is included with regular zoo admission.

The Central Coast Zoo is home to red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, reptiles, and other animals. For more information, visit www.centralcoastzoo.org or call (805) 461-5080.
