J.Lohr ‘Touching Lives’ campaign surpasses 5500 mammograms

J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has announced the continuation of its groundbreaking Touching Lives campaign, having recently surpassed funding 5500 mammograms for women in need through its partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Over the past year, Touching Lives has added the Patient Navigation program and launched the HOPE Kit initiative. The winery donates $3 from every bottle of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and $2 from every bottle of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc to support these new programs and NBCF’s efforts in early detection services.

The Patient Navigation Program provides trained patient navigators to help guide women through health care barriers to ensure timely diagnosis, treatment and support. HOPE Kits provide comforting items and encouraging gifts to women in need. J. Lohr is an active steward of this program and plans to fundraise for HOPE Kit Packing Parties to help distribute these kits to women in local community hospitals.

Carol’s Vineyard in St. Helena, CA, the namesake of the late Carol Lohr, is the source for the wines that contribute to the Touching Lives campaign. The winery originally partnered with NBCF when it designated the 2005 J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon as a commemorative release in honor of founder Jerry Lohr’s late wife, Carol, who passed away in 2008 from complications from breast cancer.

“As a family company, we’re passionately committed through Touching Lives to empower women with access to support and services at every step of their cancer journey,” said co-owner Cynthia Lohr. Breast cancer impacts one out of every eight women and their loved ones,” said Lohr. The Touching Lives campaign resonates with trade and distribution partners and consumers and the Lohr family is “truly grateful for this campaign’s impact over the past nine years,”

Founded more than four decades ago, the family owned J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines crafts a full line of internationally recognized wines from its sustainably farmed estate vineyards in Paso Robles, Monterey County and Napa Valley.

Recognized as one of the leading breast cancer organizations in the world, the NBCF is helping women by providing early detection, education and support services to those affected by breast cancer. The NCBF is a recipient of Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star rating for twelve years.
