    Jessy Nelson wins first Western Regional race of 2015 

    Paso Robles resident wins his first supercross 250SX

    Jessy Nelson, 20, of Paso Robles got his first victory in the Western Regional 250SX Class Main Event of the season at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Jan. 3. Nelson finished only 6.45 seconds before Zach Osborne of Chesterfield, S.C. Nelson is sponsored by Troy Lee Designs and Lucas Oil KTM.

    “This is a great way to start season and hopefully there’s more to come,” Nelson commented to Cycle News. “It was a great night and I can’t complain. …”

    This is Nelson’s first season that he has not started injured — this is his third season in supercross. He told RacerxOnline that he has been trying for three years to win 250SX.

    “A win like that, they’re hard to come by,” he said. I”… To finally get it, it’s huge. The feeling’s unbelievable. It’s hard to explain. It’s just so surreal.”
