When stage four of the Amgen Tour finishes in Cambria on Wednesday, May 14, community members involved in the fight against cancer will take part in the Breakaway Mile.

When stage four of the Amgen Tour finishes in Cambria on Wednesday, May 14, the Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast will hold a special walk – the Breakaway Mile – to recognize community members involved in the fight against cancer. Patients, survivors, family members and advocates for the cause are all welcome.

“We hope you or someone you know would like to participate,” says CSCCCC Executive Director Christie Kelly. “Not only do you get to walk on the race course just prior to the professional finish, you also have access to a spectacular hospitality area near the finish line.”

The hospitality area will be open at noon, with the Breakaway Mile walk scheduled to take place at about 2:30 p.m. The finish of the race will be at approximately 3:45 p.m.

Online registration for the Breakaway Mile is set to open on or around April 21; register at www.amgentourofcalifornia.com. Be sure to “like” Breakaway from Cancer on Facebook for the latest updates and information at www.facebook.com/BreakawayfromCancer.
