Jr. livestock auction brings in over $2 million

– A total of $2,188,063 was raised from the sale of 850 animals at the 2017 Mid-State Fair’s Jr. Livestock auction, according to unofficial results from the fair. The individual results are:
- Wyatt Judge of San Luis Obispo FFA sold the Grand Champion Heifer to Fresh Food, Inc for $8,500.
- Hayden Taylor of Pozo 4-H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Heifer to K-6 Ranch for $13,500.
- Carly Wheeler of Santa Lucia 4-H 4H sold the Reserve Champion Heifer to Fresh Food, Inc for $11,500.
- Lacey Haas of San Luis Obispo FFA sold the FFA Reserve Champion Heifer to Sky Rose Ranch for $7,500.
- Brayden Kahler of Cerro Alto 4-H sold the Grand Champion Hog to Atascadero Hay and Feed, Clevenger Cattle, and Tanner Dye Livestock for 3,752.
- Russell Whitaker of Atascadero FFA sold the Reserved Grand Champion Hog to Certis, Mission Ranches, and Holaday Seed for $ 9,396.
- Rachel Wilkins of Lockwood 4-H sold the Grand Champion Rabbits to Tony Domingos Farming Inc, Adamski, Moroski, Madden, Cumberland & Green and Hugh Pitts – ReMax Parkside for $1500.
- Kendall Savage of Chaparral 4-H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Rabbits to Francine Reich for $1200.
- Kendall Savage of Chaparral 4-H sold the Grand Champion Goat to Tony Domingos Farming Inc for $2112.
- Tanner Bevill sold the Independent Reserved Grand Champion Goat to Adamski, Moroski, Madden, Cumberland & Green and Hugh Pitts – ReMax Parkside for $1027.
- Holyn Sylvester of Canyon Country 4-H sold the Grand Champion Market Broilers to American Riviera Bank for $5500.
- Aeven Sylvester of Canyon Country 4-H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Market Broilers to Tanner Dye Livestock, Clevenger Cattle, and Atascadero Hay and Feed for $1200.
- Emma Wiest of El Paso De Robles 4-H sold the Grand Champion Lamb to Boneso Brothers Construction, Inc for $2740.
- Kaci Walker of Templeton FFA sold the Reserved Grand Champion Lamb to Farm Credit West for $2130.
- Wyatt DeBusk of Atascadero FFA sold the Grand Champion Steer to Nino’s Grill for $8946.
- Johnny Schmitz sold the Independent Reserved Grand Champion Steer to Electrotec Enterprises, Inc and Tom Corea Construction, Inc for $9450.
The totals were:
- 87 heifers for a total of $445,000.
- 79 steers for a total of $39,233.
- 178 lambs for a total of $ 310,833.
- 447 hogs for a total of $968,864.
- 48 meat goats for a total of $58,909.
- 4 rabbit meat pens for a total of $4,300.
- 4 poultry meat pens for a total of $7,825.
