Julien Hinds dies at 15

Julien Steven Hinds.

–Julien Steven Hinds peacefully became an angel while sleeping next to his mother on June 1, 2017 after a short battle against Crohn’s Disease.

We will always remember Julien for his eagerness to please, his willingness to laugh, and his desire to make others around him feel loved. Julien was an innocent, kind-hearted boy, who always loved others and was surrounded by love himself.

Julien adored his family; his mom and dad most of all. He loved playing with his little sister and brother, and relished time with his extended family. He took joy in action figures, cartoons, his cats, all his toys, and video games. Julien attended Atascadero High School, and loved spending time with his teachers and all his friends. He never failed to catch you off guard and crack you up with a one-liner or a parody.

Though his time was short, he taught us all some important lessons. He taught us to see the world differently, because he did. He showed us to be grateful for the gifts we possess, because he was. He will be a reminder to make the most of the time we are all given, because he most certainly made an impact on many in his time on earth.

Julien is survived by his loving parents, father, Gary Hinds and mother, Heidie Haskell; sister Chloe Hinds (6), and brother Zachary Binger (5); maternal great-grandfather, Dick Calkins; paternal grandfather, Bob Hinds. Extended family members both near and far mourn the loss of Julien.

Julien is preceded in death by his loving grandfather, Richard Calkins; his adoring grandmother, Lynn Hinson; and his great-grandmother, Joyce Calkins. He brought an abundance of love to their lives.

Funeral services will be held on June 16 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero followed by a celebration of life at the Atascadero Lake Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley, 9161 Randall Way, Madera, CA 93636 or http://rmhccv.org/donate/ “in memory of Julien Hinds.”
