Junior Livestock Auction brings in over $2 million 

 

JRLivestockAuction–The annual California Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction was held on Saturday, raising an estimated $2,096,205 for 817 animals.

This year’s action had 71 steers auctioned off for an average of $4.11 per pounds; 183 lambs for an average of $13.12 per pound; 63 heifers at $5,406 per head, 446 hogs for $9.10 per pound; and 46 goats for an average of $13.17. Four rabbit pens were auctioned off for $2,400 and four chicken pens for $4,100.

Collectively, the hogs brought in the most at more than $1 million.

Jenna Lee of Edna 4H sold the Grand Champion Heifer to JB Apartments LLC for $ 11,000.

Wyatt Judge of San Luis Obipso FFA sold the Reserved Grand Champion Heifer to Sudden & Hollister Cattle Co. for $8,000.

Kadin Javadi of Santa Lucia 4H sold the 4H Reserve Champion Heifer Randy Flamm for $6,000.

Paige Spiller of Coast Union FFA sold the FFA Reserve Champion Heifer to Sky Rose Ranch for $8,500.

Brayden Kahler of Cerro Alto 4H sold the Grand Champion Hog to the California Carnival Company for $5,980.

Paige Autry of Ranchita Canyon 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Hog to Kings Oil Tools for $5,720.

Rachel Wilkins of Lockwood 4H sold the 4H Grand Champion Rabbits to Chalk Mountain Golf Course for $1,150.

Rachel Wilkins of Lockwood 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Rabbits to Accu ZIP Inc. for $750.

Gabby Vering of Atascadero sold the FFA Grand Champion Goat to Tanner Dye Livestock, Atascadero Hay & Feed, Clevenger Cattle Co, Jake Humphrey, and Kendra Hair for $2,760.

Wyatt Savage of Chaparral 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Goat to Tanner Dye Livestock, Atascadero Hay & Feed, Clevenger Cattle Co, and Kendra Hair for $2,496.

Holyn Sylvester of Canyon Country 4H sold the Grand Champion Market Broilers to Accu ZIP Inc. for $1,700.

Aeven Sylvester of Canyon Country 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Market Broilers tp Hugh Pitts -ReMax Parkside & Boneso Brother Construction for $900.

Jacob Madden of Templeton FFA sold the Grand Champion Lamb ReMax Parkside, Boneso Brothers Construction, Cagliero Ranchers Inc., Farm Credit West, Robert Vineyards Service, Hugh Pitts ReMax Park Side, Duenow Law Office, and Tony Domingo’s Farming for $8,700.

Ryan Domingo of Ranchita Canyon 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Lamb to Adamski, Moroski, Madden, Cumberland & Green, ReMax Parkside, Boneso Brothers Construction, Cagliero Ranches, Farm Credit West, Blackjack Power Swivels/Mitchella Winery, Duenow Law Office, Hugh Pitts – ReMax Parkside, and Rober Vineyard Service for $6,812.

Leo Kemp of Creston 4H sold the Grand Champion Steer to John & Laura Orradre for $13,340.

Jenna Lee of Edna 4H sold the Reserved Grand Champion Steer to ReMax Parkside, and Boneso Brothers for $7,950.
