Justin Vineyards & Winery nominated for Wine Enthusiast’s 2015 American Winery of the Year
– Justin Vineyards & Winery has been named by Wine Enthusiast as a nominee for Wine Enthusiast’s 2015 Wine Star Award for American Winery of the Year. This marks the first nomination for the Paso Robles winery founded in 1981, which is known for its ultra-premium Bordeaux-style blends, including its flagship wine Isoceles.
Justin Vineyards & Winery is being recognized by the magazine as, “a pioneer that fostered the tremendous growth of viticulture in Paso Robles,” producing “some of the country’s most highly regarded wines.” Justin is also lauded as “a true tourist magnet” for its tasting room, Just Inn Suites and Restaurant at Justin – making it the first winery on the Central Coast to offer all three options.
“It is an incredible honor to be nominated for such an important award by Wine Enthusiast,” says founder of Justin Vineyards & Winery Justin Baldwin. “When I founded the winery over 35 years ago, I never could have dreamed that our vision of making world class Bordeaux-style blends in Paso Robles would be so successful. It’s humbling and exciting to have Wine Enthusiast and Adam and Sybil Strum recognize our incredible work over the decades to produce world-class wines.”
The magazine will announce the winner on Nov. 3, and the Wine Star Awards gala will be held on Jan. 25, 2016 at the New York City Public Library. The other nominees include Abacela Winery in Oregon, Gramercy Cellars in Washington State, Schramsberg Vineyards in Napa and Becker Vineyards in Texas. The Paso Robles AVA, of which Justin Vineyards & Winery is a long-time pioneer, won the award for Wine Region of the Year in 2013.
